Funding Priorities

A minimum of 25 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race supports the national Komen Research Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research along the entire cancer continuum from prevention to treatments for aggressive and metastatic disease.

Up to 75 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race stays in the local community to fund much-needed breast cancer education, screening, diagnostic services, treatment, other breast services.

Brief Summary of Priorities

  1. Evidence-based programs that will increase availability of breast cancer screening programs for residents of Chickasaw County
  2. Programs that provide transportation for residents of Oktibbeha County to receive breast cancer services
  3. Screening mammography for underserved women in the 16-county Komen North Mississippi Service Area
